Community Farming Pilot Programs
As an addition to local schools, our Farming Pilot Program will maximize the use of adopted vacant city-owned lots throughout our partner communities to create community-managed & supported agriculture. These will serve as outdoor classrooms, training/education spaces, and services facilities to house other outdoor non-farming activities. Among these activities are mentoring, neighborhood watch, construction training, maintenance training, administrative training, and agricultural demonstration.

Since its inception in January 2020, Cooperative Community Development Inc (CCD) has established itself as a catalytic force for community-driven development in Baltimore's Irvington neighborhood. Through strategic initiatives focusing on youth empowerment, green space development, economic opportunity, and community wellness, CCD has demonstrated a comprehensive approach to neighborhood revitalization that prioritizes resident leadership and sustainable community growth.
CCD with support from Baltimore Roundtable for Economic Democracy (BRED), has acquired the former Jarbo Brothers Storage facility to launched a multi-phase development project in Baltimore's Historic Irvington neighborhood. The initiative centers on three cornerstone properties along Frederick Avenue and S Loudon Avenue, creating a Youth Workforce & Innovation Hub designed to foster entrepreneurship and community wealth-building in the 21229 area.
The Cooperative is working with ReGEN Consulting Group LLC to finalize site plans and the Neighborhood Design Center to help engage residents. Community support through volunteerism and donations can help continue to bring this project to fruition.
